If you’ve ever asked yourself that question than you are undeniably in need of an ad tracking solution!
Whether it’s a Pay-Per-Click ad campaign, a paid link or Safelist advertising you must know which advertising methods are generating the most results!
Oh sure, you can generate some limited statistics just by creating links that go through a tracking page on one of your own domains, but that still won’t generate the kind of information you can get by using a full-blown commercial ad tracking solution.
So what’s an Internet Marketer to do?
Well, there are actually lots of viable ad tracking solutions ranging from hosted solutions like HitsConnect to self-hosted scripts like Protrack Manager.
I’m not here to tell you which solution is right for you. Some Internet Marketers prefer the ease of a hosted solution despite the ongoing monthly charges while others prefer to buy and host thier own ad tracking solution.
The choice isn’t easy and only you can make it…I’m only encouraging you to track your advertising efforts so that you can direct your energies to those advertising avenues that work best for you!

What are Safelists?
Well, in the simplest of terms a Safelist is a group of people that have agreed to exchange email advertisements. Generally these people are Internet Marketers and Business Opportunity seekers so it is essential to keep in mind the kind of target audience you will be reaching.
There are two basic kinds of safelists - standard and credit based safelists. Personally I recommend using a credit based safelist like AdTactics as every member (yourself included) is required to open emails and physically click a link in order to earn credits that in turn allow them to send their own advertisements whereas with a standard safelist there is no method that ensures that all members participate fairly.
And if you are serious about kick starting your safelist advertising efforts you might want to check out the Ultimate Safelist Survival Guide by Michael Cobb and Soren Jordansen which is an excellent beginners guide to Safelists!
